Nutrition and health optimisation can be a confusing and daunting space. There are many ‘cures’, false promises, sub-par “hobbytritonists” and conflicting subjects or lines of thought to start or take the first step in improving or optimising your health.

In addition, the forever growing and numerous health foods, fad diets, supplements, tests, weight loss products, that daily bombard you from podcasts, books, news, radio, magazines, social media and many more.

You have no clue where to start. On top of that, there is a vast amount of pressure and money dependant on people's health and ability to perform at their peak consistently day in and day out.

What I do is focus on health-span, not life span. essentially, ‘wellgevity’.

In building better bodies on the inside first thus allowing the body to flourish outside when ready. I am a firm believer in quality over quantity.  This is emphasised in my programme design and strategies to take you from A to B.

Health means something completely different to everyone. Your values, goals and requirements likewise are individualised. I understand that and integrate that into my beliefs and philosophy. This leads to superior results and mostly importantly forming a strong relationship and connection with you. I offer guidance and support throughout your journey from day one.

RYAN’S BIO

Ryan Carter is a Registered Nutritional Therapist, Sports Nutritionist (undertaking), leader in personalised health optimisation and founder of the Health Coaching & Personalised Nutrition Clinic, Live Vitae. He inspires thousands of individuals worldwide with his wisdom and insight via his website, social media, podcast, and speaking events.

Ryan is a breath of fresh air in an oversaturated health industry. He doesn’t take sides or adhere to dogma, nor does he adopt a one-size-fits-all perspective. He believes that health starts from the inside out and that a root-cause and holistic approach provides the best outcomes. He has pulled his expertise from the best, in the diverse fields of functional medicine, evolutionary biology, breathwork, sports performance, quantum physics, and of course, biohacking.

Ryan consults with brands and works with a select number of clients in person and remotely across the globe, from Royals in the Middle East to top sports athletes, to Emma in Hertfordshire with her 9 to 5 job, husband, three children, and dog. No matter where a client is at in their health journey, Ryan masters the art of personalised nutrition and wellness.

In the last twelve months of building Live Vitae from nothing but a website and fully remote health and wellness clinic, our team is finally expanding and it’s very exciting!

We have Dr. Ed, our Head of Health Optimisation Advisory Board. Liezel - the executive assistant. Berfin - a training nutritional therapist and content manager. Indi, who takes care of personal training optimization. Lizy and Vinita - are the main recipe developers. Then two graphic designers - Noemi and Kyla. In addition to our behind-the-scenes, Sammi, our web developer.

What does Live Vitae mean?

RYAN’S STORY

I have successfully overturned many personal health struggles into strengths. I truly believe without overcoming these obstacles I would not be the health coach I am today. My health journey started in 2010 at 55kg. I dealt with a combined eating disorder and exercise addiction. I finally seemed to have a better understanding of my behaviour and relationship with food and exercise. I started reading more about diets and began cooking the majority of my food for myself from scratch. The effort seemed to have helped me propel me on the right path but however, not completely fix me. In 2015, I got struck by 3 further curveballs whilst on my journey back to optimal health.

It’s a marathon not a sprint, and it is ever-changing!

Firstly, I travelled to Tanzania and Zanzibar on a holiday which resulted in contracting food poisoning from an unknown pathogen. I took the conventional approach of an antibiotic. I did not consider any alternative approaches then. My digestion and immune system never felt right from that point.

Secondly, my passion for resistance training / bodybuilding naturally led me to a more protein rich diet. I loved nothing better than consume large amounts of raw bluefin tuna in the form of sashimi or sushi to drive more muscle protein synthesis / muscle mass. It never occurred to me that excessive amounts of tuna would cause any issues with its high mercury content. A year or two later, I found out I had several genetic predispositions of being incapable to efficiently detoxify and methylate environmental toxins and natural metabolic by products leaving me more exposed and burdened with a high toxic load.

Finally, the final straw that broke the camel's back, I had been working in my families antique business for 7+ years.  I was totally oblivious to the presence of mold which accumulated in the basement and the repercussions of potential health hazards. Like most people, sick building or water damaged buildings are typically brushed aside or a like the elephant in the room.

A lightbulb moment happened in 2017. Whilst working with a nutritional therapist at the time, commented about if I was exposed to any musky smells or damp builds. Everything appeared to make sense in that moment. I began making headway with small steps to my health, gaining back the person I once was. But also began feeling and seeing the person I wanted to become.

I found myself looking deeper into understanding the root causes of the physical and mental concerns that were impacting my body and mind. This way I was able to find alternative solutions for my problems and target areas of my dietary, lifestyle and mentality which needed to change in order to positively develop myself to where I am now and heading towards.

This experience catalysed my vision to put my mind, body and soul into creating Live Vitae, a health and lifestyle coaching platform which enabled me to change my life and build a platform to help others for the better from my experience and knowledge I gathered on my journey.

Now, I am a healthy positive minded person who has not only accomplished the changes required to become a better human each day but have also continued my journey further. I am now 100 kilograms, nearly doubling my previous bodyweight.

I am now a qualified level 3 personal trainer, certified health coach. A registered nutritional therapist qualifying with Institute for optimal nutrition (DipION) and registered with mBANT CNHC. I work with clients both face to face in my Harley street clinic and also remotely, online around the world.

Also, I have been fortunate to have learnt and mentored by some of the leaders in the health optimisation field directly by attending seminars or online courses expanding my knowledge and wisdom. My learning never stops and my passion is constantly growing in a profession I love. I am grateful to be able to share it with clients, improving their lives.

Finally, I have created an amazing 430,000+ community on Instagram over the last 4 years. The aim was to inspire and share my knowledge and wisdom with daily recipes, general nutritional advice and latest news. The website will be the most in-depth platform I use to communicate. M social media channels will all feed all into here with recipes, latest research and nutritional and lifestyle optimisations, podcast appearances and press releases, latest news like events.

Currently, The book club is on a PAUSE.

Ryan or Laura will host the book club every SIX WEEKS — ON A SUNDAY, at 6 pm UK time (GMT Greenwich).

The book club will be hosted live on Zoom, and the link to the event will be sent one week prior alongside the form to vote for the next book. Using Zoom makes it private and allows us to record and send it out to those unable to attend.

The book choice will be voted for by everyone - so that each person has some say in the matter.
